The 3 selves are made up of the low-self or sub-conscious self, the mid-self or
conscious self and High-Self or what they called the super-conscious self. As we
study and explore consciousness and spirituality from around the world we find
that these terms or labels for these parts of the experience of being human may
change, but there is a common description of their meaning.
The low-self comprises the physical body and its associated subtle energy bodies.
This self is primarily concerned with survival and to continue life, the animal or
tribal aspect of our being. It doesn't have a lot of concern for others unless for its
own reward, survival or gain. As an organism, the physical body is designed to heal
itself and create a state of balance. The low self takes on beliefs but doesn't
actually create them or experience them but is more the expression of them. This
is the self we might experience as the one that houses our desires and self
gratifications and chases after those fleeting moments of sensory delights. Its also
the one seeking the adrenalin ecstasy created from the thrills and challenges of
extreme and death defying acts. Its energy vibration is of a lower frequency and it
is the one that manifest in the physical world.
The mid-self is the domain of the Ego, the Mental or Emotional self as it has been
called also. This is the reasoning self, the one that thinks and rationalizes and
looks for the detail and intricacies in things. It likes to figure things out and put
things in boxes and create reference points. This is also the one that holds and
creates our belief systems and identities, our judgments and values. This is
the one that likes to learn about things and gain knowledge. We've all been
in the situations of an argument or discord with another or at business and
you've gotten very involved with working things out and coming up with
solutions and ways to fix things, and probably fixing others at the same
time. This would be the mid-self. Although its vibration is higher than the
low-self and it includes the low-self vibration, it does not experience or
feel but, combined with the low-self, creates experiences and feelings,
emotions etc.
The High-Self is the domain of the Spirit and is at a much higher vibration
than the mid or low selves and includes their vibrations within it. It is the Self
that our prayers and intentions get past through its connection to the
Source of Existence itself. This is the Self that experiences and integrates
our intended lessons and the attributes we gain from such lessons. This is the
one that we get our intuitive knowing from. That feeling that we can't explain
but just know that it's right and in alignment with my highest good, the "AH
HAA' when we know something is right. This Self contains the other two
self's vibration because it has evolved through the mastery of the lower two.
When all three selves are connected and in Loving partnership together, our
life's experiences are created and integrated with effortless synchronicity.
When they are disconnected and separated, our life seems fragmented and
confusing, filled
with resistance and suffering.
